I'm looking to sell the following prototype and proof cards from my personal collection.

Rebel Commando unpainted protomolded figure: (Solid torso that comes apart like hardcopy). Molded in translucent milky white plastic and completely unpainted. Non sonic welded. Chip to back of leg. Custom case made by AFA. COA from CIB. Undated with no peg holes. £1,445

Protomolded figures are an intermediate prototype stage occuring earlier in the process than first shots. They derive their name from the low-yield aluminium protomolds that are used to produce them. This unpainted, un-sonic welded proto-molded figure originated from an ex-Kenner employee who served as a senior designer for Kenner from the mid 70's until the late 80's.





Molded in a creamy white translucent plastic and completely unpainted and non sonic welded or glued. The torso halves are molded solid and come apart with legs and arms slotting into the torso halves exactly like the hard copy. There are no peg holes in the feet. Comes with a COA from CIB and a custom made case with sliding back made by AFA in order to hold the piece together and allow it to display it in an upright position. There is a chip to the back of the right leg otherwise it is excellent condition. There is a piece of excess flashing sticking up out of the shoulder. The case was customised to allow room for the flashing. There is a small clear elastic band around the waist of the figure to help keep it together.

I have a COA from Tom Derby who sourced this from a Senior Kenner designer and it's classified as a protomolded figure. It has the same mold as the hardcopy with solid torso halves and would therefore have been produced from the low yield aluminium protomolds. If it came from the steel molds like a first shot or bench shot I understand it would have the same mold as production figures with hollow torso.
