Replace vintage X wing motor Empty
PostSubject: Replace vintage X wing motor   Replace vintage X wing motor I_icon_minitimeSat Dec 07, 2013 4:29 pm

Has anyone replaced a vintage X-wing motor?I think I found what I can use at Radio Shack, but it does not have the black gear on it that makes the noise. Can that part be removed from the non working motor and put on the new one?

Also, does anyone know what size the motor is , I thought I read somewhere is was a 3 volt DC motor?

Can the old motor be taken out without breaking the blue plastic piece holding it in place?

How are the wires connected to the motor? Are they soldered in place? Can they be taken out and put in a new motor?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much

John
