I visited my parents house yesterday and thought i'd take a look in their loft.

And here it is, my brother and my toy volkswagen beetle collection (now looked after by my dad!). This collection has been accumulated over 30 years.

The collection contains no doubles, but plenty of variants.

Most toy brands are represented, including well known makes like MATCHBOX and HOT WHEELS.

that is one hell of a collection I have only a few cars that I collect mainly sport cars and police cars my aim is to have a cop car from every major city in Canada.

We're talking 30+ years of collecting. Granted it has slowed down alot nowadays but new ones are still added. In fact I brought a new "Hot Wheels" one last week.

amazing collection   some real dedication and years put into that. I collect Corgi diecast vehicles but the collection has pretty much been left in the shade in recent years.

That's a terrific VW collection! My Dad used to have a 1972 Super Beetle that he restored and my first car was a 1973 VW "Thing" lol.

As far as collecting model cars is concerned I collect 4 1/2 litre Bentleys and I have a fairly complete collection of the Matchbox Models of Yesteryear series.

If you ever come over the lake to Sweden I can show a toy musuem that got a very very large collection of old toy cars. On the other hand, I don't know how many volkswagen beetles there are there.

I grew up around vee dubs, my Dad had several beetles, a campervan, (and several other modern vw's likejetta's and vento's). However he now owns my brothers Mexican Beetle, original design built in 2003!. It was a sad day when the laws over there changed for taxi's (min 4 doors), and everyone scrapped their beetle taxi's and the factory closed

PS: Is the "ADAC" beetle a vintage model from "Bandai"??? I love this model personally. I also have some beetle collectives in the "family". Mostly vintage german tin toys [cKo (Kellerman) and so on]....but also a few Bandais ....cannot compete with that amount.

Cool. Here is a pic of mine (bad pic). But love the car. I had is special ordered from VW back in 2006 when they changed.

No Bandai ADAC, but I've found 4 ADAC beetles in the collection so far...

OHH WOW.. Thats a cool collection of bugs.
I also love VW, still have a couple of diecast lying around somewhere.
55 and 56 Oval's are my favourites. Went around Europe in a 56 Oval during a 6 month period,
back in 99, and the car just kept on going, never missed a beat.
Traded that in for a Polo G40, now that was dangerous, power to weight ratio was insane.
