Hello guys!
Well, I won this a few days ago from the bay. I know the seller disclosed it had a cracked bubble, and a crease. I'll start by posting a link to the actual listing.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-Kenner-Star-Wars-ROTJ-BIKER-SCOUT-Carded-Figure-/321112964437?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&nma=true&si=R8spIpQuGHbNXtxvNuPzrGWpYkY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
The pics look like there is exactly that. a CRACK in the bubble on the left side.
Well, the figure comes in, and this is what I get. The bubble is missing the lower section. The crack extends to half way across the top, and the bottom. I can basically remove the figure. The crease seems much larger than the seller described. The tape is now loose, in the bubble and the weapon is floating around. There are some good things. It is a Lili Ledy figure, with correct weapon. It ended at less than most loose Ledy figures sell for.
The figure came in on Saturday. I messaged the seller, but as of right now, I have not heard back. They claim to have a 14 day return policy. I don't think it would make the return trip without further damage.
I'm tempted to keep it, and find a restore bubble to just PLACE OVER the original. I would never glue it down or re seal it. I don't generally approve of repro items at all, but a simple bubble to cover a broken original doesn't seem like it would cause any harm.
What are the thoughts of the members here? Should I send it back, ask for a partial refund, or just suck it up seeing how it is an offer less Ledy figure? Does removing the loose strip of tape cause any problems?? I have posted a similar thread over on RS for input there as well. I'm pretty torn over what to do with this one, so I turn to my collecting community friends for some advice!
