| Thats an awesome custom cabinet bro!
Love the fact you went for the cardback yellow style and the lighting really sets it off!

please share your lighting techniques and specificly which components you used? i'm looking to replace my lightbulb system with leds as well, but i'm clueless on what to get and how to fix it :p LED strip lights from IKEA , "DIODER" PART #801.194.20 - 4x strips with a standard 3 pin plug. I then mounted two on each side. applied with 3M double sided VHB tape. You can see that the LED strips sit behind a strip of 25x25x2 mm Aluminium angle, screwed to the cabinet side. On the front of this angle ( not visible in pic) is some Velcro. There is also velcro stuck to the back of the Polycarb, or 4.0mm Acrylic sheet. This holds the "screen" firmly in place. You can see in the other pics a tiny notch, this is a finger hole so i can remove the screen. You'll notice that on the screen i have laid up a cast vinyl boarder, (AKA vinyl decal) this acts as screen to prevent the light shining in to your eyes, and diverts the light sideways into the cabinet. It also is to refernce that cardbacks, (as well as the yellow back drop) when the screen is in place the LED's are obscured, and the cabinet lights up. All the yellow is 3mm ACM ( aluminium composite material) it is attched in sections, with alum angle to 3.0mm clear acrylic shelves. All of these are held inside the cabinet with 3M VHB tape. Total build cost $75 AUD for LED's, $220 for ACM, Acrylic, Machining, Aluminium Angle, gluing etc. I have the engineering drawings i made if someone needs them. I have done all the working out, and can give you an assembly guide. The wooden cabinet would have to be sourced or scratch built to suit. Thanks for all the positive feeback guys!!! |

| I registered with the forum here just so I could say- great job! This (and others') helped inspire my first display cabinet design- I'm already planning the next one, larger, but simpler, I really like the side lighting idea- care to share the plans you mention? |

| Yeas it is mine, i got the scout in birthday present from my vife last year and the heads i bought from a fellow collector in sweden. I got the idea of the display in the spring this year but it took a while to find the perfect things to put together as one final display. It turned out pretty nice i think, now i only have to figure out were to hang it and together whit what |

That is a nice birthday gift from your wife.
I would buy another Ledy Endor theme figure (Han Trenchcoat, Leia Endor, or one of the Ewoks) and hang it next to the Scout in another display frame.

| I absolutely love this mini display frame you've created! I'll have to see if I can use this style of box for some of my own pieces. |
