| Does anyone actually have an opinion on this? I'm contemplating setting up something but my person opinion is it'll dilute the forum by having people posting on FB. Twitter might be fun to throw out random gems like "Chewy left hair in the sink , again" but again I don't see it as a direct need.
Give us your 2 cents, loons, quids, etc.. |

| I think it was talked about in the dev section one time and everyone didnt want to do it. Or something of that nature. I do remember reading something about it in there.
But as for should we have one, I think TIG has a good enough rep to this day that it wouldnt really need a FB page. Maybe members of the sw group on there now throw it out there some times would help. I dont really see that many forums with pages on there. I tried it with the comic forum and it didnt really bring no traffic in from it. TIG is actually one of the most talked about forums right now, whether its good or bad, and people know it already. Those who dont, will from it being mentioned in the sw group. |

| I really enjoy this site. I think it's a nice family with many international friends which is nice. Nothing against rebelscum but this site just seemed more relaxed. I think a monster like Facebook or twitter may change that. I do know of a vintage star wars page that is on Facebook now. Maybe that's the best route. If anyone wants a link to that just let me know if that's allowed and I will be more than happy to post a link
This is just my opinion though |

| Social media is a great tool for organizations that want an inexpensive and easily maintained web presence. Restaurants, local businesses, brick and mortar shops who's existence wasn't conceived on the web do see benefits by participating. In the case of TIG, in my opinion, the focus and energy should constantly be invested here in the form of content and resources as opposed to another e-outlet.
Chris said it, this place is known. I believe people will continue to populate this place as long as TIG presents an informative and relaxed atmosphere. What's great is TIG asking members for their opinions on different developments as the forum continues to evolve.
TIG - Stick with your craft, that alone keeps this place great.

| I'm 100% for it. There are times I wanted to post things (like the other day when I was at the Star Wars exhibit in Wichita) but takes waaay too long to get on the forum via Safari or Crome via my iPhone even on 4G. But FB? Their app is perfect for updating your photos, videos and comments. So I vote: |

So I vote: So what you're saying is *if* TIG had a FB page you wouldn't have successfully posted your experience (which looked great btw) on TIG for those of us who don't have a Facebook or care to share their information? The reason I ask is because whether you're reporting on location or a couple of days later, the message gets out one way or another and we appreciate it all the same. |

I would, but I'd be able to get pics up much easier. Loaded 190+ pics to my FB page in seconds and then had to make a different album on Flickr to show them all on here. |

| I vote no to facebook. I think it would be better to keep everthing in one place.
Besides will people really want to check out the forum & facebook in order to keep abreast of what's going on? |

Tweeting, one slip of the tongue and you're in the shit! I don't do FB or Twiter either, so having TIG content there is of no use to me personally. |

| Youtube falls into the category of social/shared media. One thing that could be interesting for TIG is to to revive or redo the TIG Youtube channel.

Rob (TheAdmiral) used to oversee this and there was some fun as well as informative stuff on there. John, you made a Focus video presentation last year. Maybe more people would like to film their collections/dioramas/customs/burning of repro accessories lol |

| I don't see much added value having a TIG FB site for the reasons posted by others. It is more the other way around, we have something added which FB is still lacking: a dislike button. |

| Tishomingo, I can upload just as many pix here as you can on FB using the servimg thats provided here straight from my computer. All those FOTW threads I did the other day took no time to do those using it. What took the longest was all the typing in the names, making them larger, doing the colors, etc. I did what, 44 at one time? It took me no longer than maybe 30 min to upload all the pix and COO guides plus all the typing. How long does it normally take you to upload all the pix to FB? Figure I did 132 pix in 30 min. I dont think FB is that fast. Plus like a few already said, they dont do FB. I didnt either until; a girl I use to work with ask me to sign up so we could talk. Now, I really only use it for playing games and chat over there. |

Hi there, I'm the creator/owner of the vintage star wars group on Facebook. It never really did very much until the change to the new facebook groups format which gives you the new posts notifications down the left hand side of your facebook page. Since then it has really took off in terms of members (almost 600 now) and volume of posts. It too was a little worried at first that it would take a lot of forum traffic from SWFUk, TIG and Rebelscum, but I don't think that's the case. A lot of the people who post on there don't post on star wars forums so it kind of created a community where none existed before. I do see a bunch more forum users posting on there more recently as it's popularity has increased however. All in all, i think we are better for having a vintage group on facebook where collectors can share their love of the hobby. I know that Rebelscum has a facebook group that sees very little traffic. I think facebook traffic is all best directed in the one group we have rather than having more groups on facebook. Whatever happens it's all good, and am happy for people to advertise forums, new facebook groups and whatever else on the group we have. cheers Jason |

| Well, then I think it's a horrible idea! I didn't mean to make any ripples. Either way, I will be posting here more than I will anywhere else (only place right now actually). |

| I belong to the vintage star wars Facebook group, but I don't see the need to have a TIG one, as any thing that needs to be said can be said on here, but I really like the idea of starting up the TIG youtube channel it could be fun. |

| Personally, I have a twitter and facebook account and will be more than happy to pub this place. Not sure if TIG needs their own twitter account, but us members can be the "face" of this place if needed. |
