| i choose this optio
"Some items as selling for higher while many are staying the same"
because the more i want an item the more expencive it gets
and everytime i want to sell , i dont get for it what i want
wich actually could also mean that vintage is at it's al time low
and the harder to find and last 17 stuff stuff just sits at a standard price |

I have loads of examples in my ended items that ill add later of items that sold for high amounts. I thought i would also test out the poll feature on the site |

| I think there will always be bargains and bargain hunters but the prices of mint and rare items will steadily increase, that for many is almost a natural progression, start with the easy to find and bad condition stuff, sell it move on to medium condition-very good and slightly rarer then ultimately you sell and go for the really nice stuff.
The rare + great condition items aren't increasing in amount so for that reason as more and more people gravitate towards buying these items the pool gets smaller and the prices get higher.
Of course there are exceptions to that generalisation, namely wealthy first time collectors going after high end from the get go or in the very small minority, people actually sitting down and thinking about what to collect for possible investment, I don't think those kind of people stick around more than a few years though.
Even if condition isn't a factor for you I don't think there is anyone here that didn't start out with cheap items and then increase the budget or bought to sell for bigger and better pieces.
I voted for certain things going up but most if it staying the same. |

| Tell you what should never have been high to start with though - fucking silly prices on (NOT) rare loose (PRODUCTION) figures |

| I went with this option: On average many items are selling for less in the last few months
Mostly because the last three items I bought were at smoking good prices. That and I've noticed a LOT of fire sales and things going on. And I have to agree with Joe. The rare/high end pieces really aren't increasing that much recently. If anything, they are even going for good prices now too.
I think it's a natural progression of things. Factor in the economy on top of that and I think that explains a lot of it. |

| I also noticed lots of nice sales happening lately and if you see how fast this stuff moves, especially the prototypes when they are priced nicely (or at least to sell) it does indeed show that people know what they want and are happy to drop a few hundred to get it.
I think the prices of 2D proto's went up hugely in the last 6 years with the exception of perhaps Return proofs. |

I think the prices of 2D proto's went up hugely in the last 6 years with the exception of perhaps Return proofs. I would also add the exception of Revenge proofs. There have been some really great prices on those this last year. It has been very tempting to finally pick one up. If I would have seen Jason's Jawa proofs before they were gone, I would have snapped one up then. I chose "Some items as selling for higher while many are staying the same" At least that applies to the stuff I've been looking at lately. I think that Luke Jedi Jay mentioned was a big exception. I was absolutely shocked when I saw it end. One was recently sold on RS with a Coin offer sticker for about $200 and I thought that was a bit high, but the coin sticker on a blue saber Luke made the premium on it. The high grade stuff still seems to get great prices and I think it will be that way for a while, but I do see the market dwindling a bit unless something new comes around to get fans excited again. If the Live Action T.V. show ends up being any good, I can see it helping spark some new interest and therefore raising prices again a bit. |

| I don't think prices changed on most its than they were last year, mainly the US material. Foriegn items are going for alittle more then it was, but the economy is real slowing buying down and causing alot of the fire sales going on. Your always going to have those 2-3 people get in a bidding war on some things, but thats normal. The one thing that has surprised me is the price of mini-rigs. I remember being able to pick 99% of them up for under $15.00 a piece last year, now they go for $20-29.00 a pop. Thank you AFA and your U grade. |

| One of the biggest factors on price for me has been the exchange rate. Not so much in the last 2 months but in the last year my 'buying power' has increased by 50 %, $AUS1 was only 60 US cents now its over 90 But I have noticed some really good bargains around, of course this occurs when I'm being a bit more careful with my toy spending |

Not sure if you are serious but just in case, any political, racial or prejudiced comments will be deleted as required. |

| -compared to when? i started collecting vividly back in '93.. seen a lot of flux since then -depending on what you're after, results may vary.. mint figs tend to fetch more, crazy variations went through the roof, afa graded stuff makes my head spin. on the other hand it has never been easier to find a palitoy death star for example. for me and my (lack of) focus, i chose the "cheaper now than ever" option and looking at the poll results so far, i'd say it shows the basics of economy (supply&demand) very clearly. i'm glad i'm not a afa-minty-misb collector! |

| I've picked up some great pieces at what I think are extremely low prices personally. 12bk Harbert Vader for $200, did my complete MOC Droids for $1200 , etc.. I think if you're a buyer right now it's a good time. If you're buying and selling it's a break even since you're buying cheap but selling cheap as well. |
