The spray mask was held too far away from the surface resulting in larger squares?

not sure exactly....have to take a look....but I remeber two spray maskas (regarding the face) on one of those HK Lobots....

yeah....now I remeber...the HK can have both spary details the related no coo only one.....seems like they changed spray masks already in the HK area!!

is there more examples of "spraymask changes" on figures with the same coo?

not sure....I notied this also on my Lobots, but not on any other (that comes into my mind right now).

Dont start with Leia bespin...this is the most complicated figure regarding mold, spray masks and coo.

Most spray varaints on one coo really are the result (as AJ mentioned) of "wider" or "closer" sprayed.

But on the Lobot there is really 2 different spray amsks used on the face IMO.....and the small and large squares on the back to go with tem it seems!

Im really just talking from my mind here!.....could be mixing things up.....though

i found one more lobot in my collection a no coo (the left one) and you can really see the spraymask didnt fit 100% every time
