Hi guys, is the droids R2-D2 saber the same as the POTF R2-D2 saber ?

(The Glasslite version is cast in a different green plastic though).

I just found out that my R2 Droids saber is repro

I bouht it many years ago, before I learned about there was such things as repro weapons.

Does the original saber also sink in water ?

That could be nice, on Ebay it looks like it would be cheaper to buy a figure with saber, than a new saber

Pfft. That's bad luck Lars You could try putting up a Want To Buy in the sales section of TIG. Or you might find a slightly beat R2 with an original saber somewhere that's a bit cheaper. Good luck.

Because the one that I have for the POTF R2-D2 looks original to me and it also sinks.

Can any of you test your own original saber ?

im not a expert by no means but i have both figures and i sent my droids r2 for grading so i know its real real the droids saber is cast in darker green plastic like some else said and it dose not float the potf r2 saber is slightly lighter and dose float

there are a lot of fake out there including a repro that floats and is cast in green plastic but its slightly shorter

This is my POTF saber and it also sinks in water, so is this also fake ?

If it is I will scream

that saber is real some do sink in water its like the telescoping sabers on ben, luke and darth some sink some float i would say that one is real

by the way im selling my droids r2 as it dosent fit in with my collection and i want to focus on other stuff
but its been graded by ukg its listed on ebay at the mo

As far as I'm aware original Kenner 'pop-up sabers' should have a mold circle. I can't comment on Glasslite!

Very strange, the 2 original sabers in the tig guide both have a circle :scratch:

Looks real to me lars. Michael had a simular with circle that he opend from an afa box.

strange i bought it from a very trustfull source,he tried to put a 96 moc run together and this one was destroyed in the mail :scratch:

There are these sabres with and with out cicrles, both legit. Althoug I cant tell from your picture, but havent a doubt to your source.

the circle is a good singe i have a afa u85 pop up and a ukg graded 85 droids r2 both have the circle i have bought and sold a lot of these figures i would say that one is real it looks the same as mine i cant do the float test as they are in there cases now but one of mine did sink before i sent it for grading and its real

the droids one is very slightly darker

i put up some pictures of the figure and the coo i am 99% this saber is legit,he included the coin too :silent:

i only have i phone as camera theres only a very slight differents in colour the droids one is a deeper green to be honest unless you got them side by side in your hand its gonna be hard to see

im not sure about the other saber i thought they all had the circle on the handle but i cant say for sure
