We all know that the Star Wars movies came with a great soundtrack, which contributed much to the appeal and magic of this great SF fairy tale. Kudos to John Williams for composing!!! Many characters have their own music theme, and the atmosphere of many scenes is supported by a specific track (think Cantina Bar, Arrival at Cloud City, Final Duel,…. ).
Question is, which SW track do you like the most? It can be any track from the Original Trilogy or the Prequels (there are some great tracks there as well, much better than the movies themselves ).
Paste a Youtube link of your favorite track in this thread, so we can all listen to it. A short motivation would be nice.
My most favorite Star Wars track? Tough question to answer. I like a lot of them. But if I have to make a choice, it will be Yoda’s theme. Why? It is subtle and great at the same time, and it breathes hope, like master Yoda himself.
EDIT: Changed the title of the thread.

There all quality, Binary Sunset, Imperial March. I'm a musician so soundtracks always ring loud to me, I love the differentversions of certain themes, like the Emperors arrival at the Death Star is like a super power version of the Imperial March, themes with in themes! And this is why this bad boy is my favourite, it's an awesome build, powerful and it has that underlying eerie Emperor's Theme in the back ground. John Williams Rocks!!!

I'm a complete soundtrack geek due in no small part to John Williams. A New Hope being my favorite with Empire a close second. The music is the best thing about the prequels--I love the love theme from Attack of the Clones.
For the 8 year old in me this is the track I play the most:

Hi Bjorn,
I am not sure what piece you mean here.
Do you mean Duel of the Fates from Ep I
...Battle of the Heroes from Ep III...
...or something else?

Great idea for a thread Marco! And guys, some really good selections you made
My choice right now would be the Cantina Theme. I love this because it was a great introduction to some cool aliens and monsters when I saw the film. The ragtime/jazz feel to the track is an interesting diversion from the rest of the score. It's the only track not to use members of the London Symphony Orchestra - they used nine jazz musicians instead for this one. The addition of steel drums was a good move too.
I also really love the Meco version of the Cantina Theme! Pure disco funk goodness I can remember this playing on the radio so many times when I was a kid and being really happy to hear all those alien squeaks and squeals and growls before the intro lol. It kicks in around 4.20 on the vid:
Then there's the completely bizarre 'hand-farting' version of Cantina Theme by jerry Philips

I really enjoy listening to many SW tracks .....
But my number one is Duel of the Fates from Ep I ..... Still get goosebumps when I see that part and listen to the track , watching Darth Maul LS going to DLS ( while listening to duel of fates) is just breathtaking!! .....

A short but "pure" one. Tells everything without a word: Binary Sunset (also my favourite scene, always tears my eyes)

I was going to add Binery Sunsets mainly from Eposide 4 and saw i was beaten to it but do want to add im glad it was used at the end of episode 3 aswell it really tied the PT to the OT for me personally.
Here are both versions tigether
I also feel Vaders Funneral is muscially very similar to the Binary Sunset Scenes
Star Wars: Episode VI OST - Funeral Pyre For A Jedi
To try and something new i feel Vaders Redemptions Emperors Death Scene it the big arc of the story and really gives you a buzz when he makes the right choice to save luke and the music kicks in!

Great choices, guys! I also like the background provided with some of the tracks.
I would like to add another track.
We all know the Imperial March. A fantastic piece first used in ESB in a scene which still gives me goose skin.
When watching the Phantom Menace in the cinema for the first time, I was desperately looking for something familiar, something which gave me the good old feeling of the Original Trilogy. Only the scene below managed to do so, at least a bit. It is not about what you see, but what you hear. Do you agree it sounds familiar from 9:30?

Here is a link to Buckethead playing the Star Wars theme :
or this if that doesn't work : https://youtu.be/dLcvn3VwhgU
If you aren't familiar with Buckethead you should be - just put on your mask and enjoy the show
There are lots of links to live versions of the Star Wars theme on youtube (as well as many of his other great tunes) .
I have seen him live solo twice and about a month ago I saw him perform with That One Guy as The Frankenstein Brothers - if you ever have a chance to seehim live I highly recommend going .

The soundtrack from the original three are still my fravorite in any random order. It would be great if the audio from the movies could be available for download or cd. Kinda like an audio book but you'd be listening to the movie.
