| I came across a little experiment yesterday, some IGF members thought it would make a good thread topic.
After I posted pics of the couple of cared figures I was going to send in to get U graded people in the chat were asking questions about them to possibly seek them in trade to save them from the AFA U grading room floor.
In midst of the constant flipping them over back and forth to describe what was on the front and back of the card, one of the price tag stickers fell off.
Just for shits and giggles, I took that sticker, and placed it on one of my minty ROTJ carded figures in my personal collection that had a small tear mark from its original price sticker being removed. ABRACADABRA!!! Now it looks great with no flaws
Don't worry this is not going to become a hobby of mine and I do not plan on selling my "altered" carded figure!!!
Just curious what you guys think on this subject!!!!
=) James |

I guess if you do really want to do this kind of stuff James no-one can stop you but if you ever sell them on that has to be something you inform the next buyer, which to be honest not many would be happy with. It's fine to think and to hope that you would keep your figures forever but in reality sometimes that isn't possible, another hobby, bills to pay etc, life gets in the way and by altering the figure and telling the next possible buyer you might ruin your chance of a sale and if you don't inform them then its shady and you cheat them. Altering vintage figures for display is a bit of a slippery slope, covering up damage with price stickers is actually an old method used by scammers Whatever floats your boat I guess! If you really will take them to the grave go for it, if not probably best not doing it. |

| If the sticker has lost its own adhesive and has fallen off then you might need to reglue it to the card, then its going to probably rip when you take it off again. I just think its a silly thing to do that's all, in the end you might lose more than you gain, if the damage bothers you on a figure upgrade it, if you can't find the offer you want don't invent it, wait a bit longer Happy happy joy joy |

Theres no shortcuts James, sell as is and upgrade, you would only be fooling yourself, whatever a carded figures condition it will always be sought after. |

| WOW!!! Stirred up some controversy with this topic!!!
Like I said guys... did it once just for shits and giggles to see if it would work!!!
It is a piece from my own collection that I am not going to be selling!!!
Not going to do it again!!! SO NO WORRIES!!!
I agree on the black marker though!!! I hate when people do that!!! Almost bought some ROTJ MOC figures back at Chicago Comic Con until I saw that they were inked up!!!!!!! |

| Out of interest what was the card the sticker came from and what store did the sticker come from? Not sticking UK Woolworths stickers on American toys I hope |

| It took me almost a year to find a 79a (offerless) 8D8 and in the beginning with so many 79b's around I actually considered buying a nice 79b and just taking the Anakin offer off. The more I thought about it the sillier the idea seemed to me, yes it was a quick fix to complete a run or to get that figure but it was cheating and one of the most fun parts of collecting is actually having something to search for,if it is too easy to find the hunt is over too quick. Anyway, not quite the same as moving stickers around to cover damage, that's something I again wouldn't do not even once, in fact damage on cards isn't a great big deal to me, if its something I need I will always try to get it in a nice condition but if I can't so be it , I will show you one of my favourite carded figures later to demonstrate |

| Back on track after the ass slapping lol One mans garbage is another ones treasure! Card has a huge rip in it through the middle and its been kung fu kicked in the back but I am glad I have it and it didn't go off for a U! Double offers are interesting cards and sometimes hard to pick up for certain characters, sticker placement on this was also pretty nice |

| I personally like price stickers on MOC's they add an extra bit of history to the piece and some of the offer sticker combination's out there are pretty rare! Give me a sticker over a yellow bubble any day |

| I passed on a perfect coin offer, also sold an Anakin offer because it had a ding and a yellow bubble. Makes me sick now! I wish I had kept them. The Anakin offer was my first Leia Boushh MOC! |
