Hi all,

some people collect cardbacks, i think i may look into collecting empty boxes from toys and playsets.

I have seen a few on ebay but was wondering if there is a dedicated site or bunch of people who practice this kind of collecting...honestly i cant do it right now so dont make any offers but probably after x-mas when my budget stabilizes i might be looking in some...

i love the boxes, almost more than the toys themselves. I am now changing my focus to only a new hope until i get all of what i want from the movie.

i got most of the 3/4 first 21 toys and going and my first playset is on the way. i ll alternate between the vehicles, playset and 12" figures...

i think the 12" will be the hardest thing for me since i want them in an original box so i ll have to fork a lot for those.

But i have an ace in my hand. my comic book collection....with barely a long box worth of selling on ebay i got tons of loose figures, so i figure i might be able to turn some spider-man books into a 12" darth vader down the road...

Here, RS or Ebay will be your best bet to get empty boxes. Theres usually someone on RS selling them. your best bet would be to go back through some old FS threads on there and see if anybody has any left.

I collect(ed) boxes & it's a pain in the ass. Sometimes you'll find people who buy complete with box just for a great complete vehicle & sell the box. It will be cheaper to buy complete in box & sell the vehicle- but that makes no sense at all There was a massive lot of real nice playset & vehicle boxes for sale recently, with a hefty price to go with it. Postage can be expensive ( it always is for me ) but like Chris said they can be found.

You are right a boxed 12" set won't be cheap.

well i got a droid factory coming my way, like i said in a previous reply it is incomplete but the box seemed to be in decent shape. I am gonna pay up an x-wing with a semi decent box in the next few days.... after that i ll be scavenging for some other boxed items from the first movie. i am going back to my old town where i used to live to get a truck load of comics i have.. when i stopped collecting i figured i had close to 8000 comics and tons of other trinkets i picked up over the years. I am turning those into my real first love, star wars toys... or i should say kenner star wars stuff from the first movie ( for now ).

I feel like Indiana Jones ahahahah oh the thrill of the hunt and then victory!!! whhhhhhhhat a russshhhh!!!!
