ok, some people are going to say that i am pushing it. But i dont see any guide that explains or shows what a genuine and fake sticker would look like.

Ok i have to admit that there are threads about our favorite droids and what they look like but i think it might be a benefit to have a portion that relates to stickers for droids and or playsets and ships.

I know it might be an impossible thing to try to classify but an attempt is better than nothing since there is as much fake stickers as there are fake weapon repros.

Also cardbacks and bubbles should be pointed out too since there is a lot of MOC buyers that are noobs like me. i think a proper MOC guide would tremendously benefit the community... I am sure that not everyone can point out or discern the proper bubbles used for each characters all the time and some resto kits use generic bubbles for most figures so might as well point them out in case some fakers would try to repackage a figure and pass them as legit...

well my bright idea ofr the day i guess.

cheers!

I know what you means James. Just you posting this gave me knowledge on thing i did not know or vaguely know.

I know something like what i am suggesting would be a lot of work but think of what it could do for the website. I come here because it is a fountain of knowledge for collectors like me who are new to the game. If all things would be on one site "this site" think of how much easier it would be for collectors to get their info plus the prestige associated with that kind of thing associated with the site.

There are tons of site on the net that have beginners guide but no site comes close to this one for the deep knowledge for the weapons and other things.

I don't think a sticker section ( at least for the original droids ) would be too hard to do since you already posted most of the things to look for from your awesome r2 army.

The MOC reference, yes that could be a pain...i don't have any myself so i would be of no help but there are many collectors here whom would probably share pics on each MOC they have to build a data-knowledge base of the card with proper information.

but this is just me.

cheers!

That is such a slippery slope, that we'd have to really look at how to keep the information safe guarded.

Printed images, such as stickers and cardbacks, are sooo much easier to fake than manufacturing weapons. Anyone with some patience, skill and knowledge of the print industry can easily fake any of that stuff.

Besides that, the information is out there, you just need to look for it. Or, like what AJ suggested, just ask the question(s). MOC is all about experience really. The more you look at and the more you handle, the easier it is to tell the real ones apart from the fakes.

I agree it would be easy for fakers to fake even more when putting the stickers for all to see, these can be downloaded and tooled to fool people. But the point is to avoid just that. I know there is no ideal solution for this one. But i am sitting here and i can say to myself that the guys who wanted to point out the fake weapons from the real weapons probably faced the same situation as this one here but got the job and a job well done it is...

cheers

Right. I'm sure they did.

However, manufacturing weapons is a TOTALLY different ball park than printing off stickers/cardbacks. Much easier and more accessible to the average person. Where as repro weapons you need a lot more materials than the average person has access to.

I'm not saying it's a bad idea. But I think given the ease of printing off a sheet of stickers, or running to your local print shop to print off 100 cardbacks means it has to be handled a bit differently.
