Hi there, i wanted to start a thread to get some design ideas.

I am an industrial designer, and work with displays and the like,

I have been thinking for ages about making a product to display figures, first i thought about replicating the AFA loose style case, then i thought about ther carded displays, and of you may have seen that i built my own cabinet to display 115 figs.

I guess i wanted to know what other people out there hoped for in a display, what is your idea of whats missing from the market/

I have had some interest in my cabinet and perhaps, like Galatic Womble i could make these available on a mass production run. I have a few ideas, but want to know what i have in common with others in terms of what i would like to be able to buy to display my figures, loose and carded.

Please share ideas, sketches and or pet hates about displaying your figures, and i'm going to use the thread as a design platform to create a concept through to production, even if it's just a prototype.

I am working now on a railing system to displat MOCS inside Star cases, ill post my sletches as i go in this thread and show you how im going.

I would love to know what other people wish they could buy...

Good idea to nut out display ideas imo.
I think displaying what we collect is often underestimated by a lot of us. A great display can make a collection stand out from the crowd.
Some of us just don't have the technical skills needed, so any help/inspiration is very helpful.

Ditto

I think this will be a great help to me and look forward to any updates. Great idea!

Good idea to gather display ideas and thoughts.

For loose displays I'd like to see some kind of interlocking style cubes/modules (maybe allowing room for up to 6 figures or so, or a creature, mini rig for example).
And each cube/module would have their own door/hatch - so you didn't have to rely on a single hinged/sliding door for the whole display. Probably made of acylic but maybe something else lightweight?
I like the idea of displaying a full loose collection or, say, just a Hoth scene, simply by removing or adding the cubes. The cubes could also have rear sliders to allow diorama pictures or colour card to act as a backdrop.

Just a few thoughts Smile

Some type of modular case with risers of some type that could be stacked on top of one another. Also somehow to get my damn bootlegs to stay up on their own, lol.
