Does anyone have this Takara logo on some actual physical packaging?



If so, and you'd be up for scanning it, I'd love to put it on a t-shirt (zazzle or spreadshirt, etc) for anyone to buy.

It's just too cool not to strut around!

I've got it on a variety of different packages -- I'll scan it this weekend and email it to you. Sounds like a neat project! (Gotta make at least one black T-shirt, large, for me! Lol)

Josh_T has already offered up a sweet scan but Brian if you want to give it a shot as well, it could prove useful. High, high res and the maximum up-scaling that your scanner will allow!

I've got different versions of the logo -- black on white, white on black, black with a white circle, and a couple different sizes. I'll send all the variations, maybe one'll inspire you.

Pete -- I just send you a PM with links to the scanned images. BIG files, very high resolution. Three different variations, plus the "ST" -- Safety Toy -- logo that appeared on all Japanese toys starting in 1971. Hope they help!

Here we go gents. I used zazzle to show off what the designs look like on a t-shirt but ultimately these will sell off of spreadshirt.com. I've found that zazzle's copyright protection team has gone ultra strict over the past couple of years and they'd probably yank these as soon as the first order came in.

So check out the goods below. The blue design is altered from the original logo insofar as I added an extra stroke around the perimeter and also added a 2nd color for a background. The white on black is pretty much just straight up. I can also do a straight-up, 1-color version too for the light shirts, just let me know if there's interest in that and if any other colors would be preferred besides blue.

The one thing I'm considering doing is working harder to clean up the 'TAKARA' lettering. But that's going to be tricky work and I'll avoid that if people don't mind it as is.

So chime in and let me know your thoughts on versions, colors, etc. No one's under any obligation to buy anything and also, when these do go up for sale, they'll be set for zero markup on my behalf. I'll be happy just to know these are getting out there.

Holy cow, those are awesome! I love the white-on-black, and the ST logo looks great.

Gotta admit, I like the blue-on-white, too. Has a nice vintage feel to it. Not as keen on the distressed one -- I like aging mine the old fashioned way, by wearing them to death.

Thanks guys. Here are some other colors I thought had some merit... the blue on blue on the right is the same as pictured above. Doesn't cost a dime to put different colors up so just holler if you want something.

Those are nice. How would they look on black shirts, do you think? Maybe the blue and the lighter bluish green one?

I like the distressed one. And the red logo would look awesome on a black shirt.

Unfortunately the process that these companies use to apply color to dark or black t-shirts is pretty lousy. For dark t-shirts, an all white design would look great, and that's about it.

On the other hand the color designs on white will definitely look awesome. Also, other light color tees like yellow and light blue provide sharp results for color designs.

I have a great high res file that's has only nice looking scratched-up distressing. Basically the missing distressed area on this logo is just a mask lifted from that other file.

Now they look cool like the distressed one myself.

They're not exactly cheap... I spec'd them on American Apparel shirts. Could make it cheaper by going with some the standard heavyweight tees, but IMO they're just not as nice. They could also be cheaper without the extra Safety Toy stamp on the back of the shirt. If anybody wants those options or different color designs or shirts, just let me know.
