| Just wondering about this Green R2D2. First I thought it was yellowing on the "head" that had done the color change, since yellow+blue=green. But when I took it apart and noticed it wasn't very yellowed in the head. Not even close to another bad one I got and that one have kept its metal and blue color. I'm going to donate a bunch of figures to a kid that I usually give stuff that ain't very good or broken. Been giving him a lot the past years. But I just want to know that I am not giving away a variation of some sort. I figured I'd just make a custom sticker for it to make it look a bit better before giving it away. |

| Looks like a fun colour degraded figure / transformant to me.
Please add some clear pics to the discolored figures thread (eveything you always wanted to know about discolored figures...) before you sell him.
Good luck with the sales and pls don't glue a repro sticker on this little droid. |

Just wanted to be sure I wasn't giving away something with an actual value. I got a vague memory of seeing a r2 thread before but I couldn't find it. Since it's blue from beginning I guess the blue must have degraded making it look green, because it isn't yellowed. |

My sister's childhood R2 (from a Clipper 12 back) used to have blue panels on the dome. Today they are green, and.....
------the R2 is Made in Taiwan.
Probably the blue paint used in the Taiwan factory is prone to degradation, resulting in a green colour.

| Thanks for the replies, I haven't had time to check what coo it is, but can't recall Taiwan. I settled with discoloration. But do you mean that it is a variation that is green and not discolored? |
