i have injured my knee today, i have spent 3 hours done A&E had an x ray (fortunatly no bones broken) but i have got to see a knee specialist friday, the doctor suspects aggriaved an old injury and i have damaged my lateral meniscus ligament. now i face time off work!!!

gonna have to stay away from ebay, while i am off i loose any shift allowence and any overtime, but i have next week off as holiday, but until i see a specialist, i wont know how it will take to recover

Thanks for the well wishes, but its amazing how much 24hrs make! swelling has gon down, even though it still feels tender, i have alot more movement. It still feels a little weak and i am worried, it will bukle again

FFS! just getting out of the car and walked a little way and my knee buckles!! still no letter come through from the hopital and i gotta go back to work monday night!

ive had issues with my knee in the past ( 3 ops to sort ), i found a support bandage helped a lot and some gel that you can rub in. can get it over the counter at chemist which has pain killer in it, warms up as well, sorry cant remember the name.

im in the same boat with shift work and losing the extra allowance when off so know its a pain when your off

well. i hope i dont have have operations, but i do wish that the hospital would hurry up with the appointment, so then at least they could diagnose the treatment!

same from here, Carl. Keep us updated on progress. A couple of my mates from our footballing days have had to have knee surgery and has been a success with no more pain. Best wishes, keep positive

Carl sorry to hear about this. As someone above said the surgery now is fairly common so hopefully they'll do a great job and have you up and running quickly.

Thanks for the comments guys! I have been told it is routine, but being my first ever op, it is a scary feeling, aparantly i have a cyst on the outside of my left knee, which is a result of a possible tear to a cartalidge, but they cant be sure as the cyst was in the way of the scan, i also have some scaring, so they r going to drain the cyst check and repair the tear, clean up the scaring and remove any floating cartaldge (which is causing my knee to lock).

I just got my pre op appointment! Sat 29th :nailbiting:

Carl I know this may be daunting to you, but I shall do my best to encourage you to look at the Light Side of things. After the cyst on the outside of your left knee have been properly treated your health will be fully restored.


However, there's no guarantee that the nurses will be anywhere close to this HAWT babe as AussieJames has posted :
