| Does anyone know of a good site which tells you how to spot the difference between a original / vintage Double telescoping sabre and a reproduction one? I see that there is an example of a reproduction one in the TIG site http://www.imperialgunnery.com/thelightsabersection.htm but there isn't a genuine one to compare it to, so I am not sure what the differences are. I get the impression there is a difference in the colour but not sure without seeing a comparison, I think there is a difference in the casting molds but again not sure. I think most have a letter on the hilt but again not sure if all of them have. Cheers, Rob (apologies if this is in the wrong section ) |

| I also did alittle research and I cant find the site I found. But the type of plastic and if it has a letter on the hilt is an important fact. |

| Cheers for the link, that was one big thread.
Finally finished reading it! Talk about people beating round the bush .... 11 pages of posts which could have been put into one.
... But I can understand why some of the experts refuse to identify the tell tale signs of spotting a genuine from a reproduction DT, in fear that it will help others replicate them.
Will this be covered in the TIG reference site or is it a risky subject? |

| I want to update the page but need someone who owns the items and is capable of taking decent pictures and thats pretty much the bottom line lads. DT Luke Sabers are relatively common (i say relatively) when compare to Ben and Vader DT Sabers which come up very infrequently and cost thousands to buy. The thing is if your in the market for a DT Ben or DT Vader saber then your going to go down the afa / cib route and buy from a trusted source when you consider the sheer amount of cash your laying out especially a DT Ben saber. Ideally though i like to add pictures of genuine DT Luke Sabers if people can supply pics |

I have the DT luke but As you said its the Ben and Vader you really need. Is there someone you know who you could PM and get them to send pics? |
