I just picked up this ESB One Sheet -

I love the Retro Feel and the fact that the AT-AT's and Yoda were added

Sweet poster Jay. I would get into them, but I'm not to up to date on how to tell whats real or whats a repro, especially when picking them up on Ebay. I'd hate to send a few hundred on something thats only worth $20.

Chris (and Jay for that matter), you both should pick up the Star Wars Poster Book. It's awesome and covers the whole gambit of SW poster collecting!

I'm not really a collector of posters outside of wanting a few for my Star Wars collection. I have an authentic style "A" one sheet for Star Wars that is rolled it shows a little age but has no rips or tears. I also have a folded Empire Strikes Back teaser 1-sheet (with the Vader helmet) that needs a little restoration and I'd like to have cloth mounted someday.

I have a reprint of the Hildebrandt poster from Killian Enterprises that I guess is something of a collector's item for some reason. I also have the NPR Radio poster and the 10th Anniversary "Revenge of the Jedi" poster printed by the Lucasfilm club that I've had autographed by Drew Struzan and Dave Prowse.

I've got some promotional posters for the video release of the Trilogy from the late '90s when I worked at a video and music store.

Outside of Star Wars I have an authentic, folded, Star Trek: The Motion Picture one-sheet, and my wife has a rolled style "C" sheet from Fargo and an original "Hairspray" movie poster--the original not the musical--her favorite flick.

Lacking wall space but I'd like to have the poster for Blade Runner: Final Cut and the French one-sheet for The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

I own a tonne of movie posters, some old, some new. I have got some SW posters but only one of them framed. The wife was good enough to allow me hang this one on the stairs



Bought this one about 5-6 years ago at memorabilia from the poster guy that wears a cowboy hat - he used to be the only one selling posters at memorabilia and collectormania whereas now there is about 4-5. Got some cool ESB lobby cards from the father in law one year that must have cost well over the £100 as they are super minty

BTW I try to buy as many quads as I can (not at the minute though ) but unfortunately the only SW quad I own is an AOTC one that I really liked with Anakin and Padme with their backs to each other mainly because I thought it looked amazing

I have some.

First of all my Empire poster which has been taken from London.
This poster hung there in a Cinema in 1980 or 1981.
After that came to me





The second one is a Special Edition Star Wars poster from 1997!
It is a double-sided poster because it was "luminated" in a hungarian Cinema.
I pick it up by myself

So both are absolutely original! They were used in those Cinemas!

For many years I've been trying to get a copy of the promo poster for the Star Wars soundtrack. I finally knabbed this one a few weeks ago. The tattered damage to the edges wasn't pictured in the auction and the post office crushed the shipping tube so it's a little worse for wear but this is only the fifth one I've seen in as many years (I've been outbid at least twice and the other one was being sold by a poster collector for something like $450).



I'm considering sending it to a poster restoration service to see if it can be fixed up a little bit and some of the wrinkles massaged out of it or at least preserved in its present state and mounted on linen.

I know they also did an ESB and ROTJ version too.
What size is this poster?

The poster measures 22"x32" and is printed on a silver foil paper (kind of like a big candy wrapper). They've done promo posters and squares for all of the soundtracks, including the CD reissues and prequels, but for some reason the original Star Wars poster is really difficult to come by and not a lot is known about it.

In fact, from what I've read, there is some argument about whether it's even a promo poster for the soundtrack at all but that seems to be the general consensus. Personally, I think it is. The other soundtrack posters are very specifically advertising posters with pictures of the records and saying things like "Soundtrack available on RSO Records" etc. As advertising this one's pretty subtle--it's just the Tom Jung image of Vader from the back of the soundtrack album. What convinces me that it is a promo poster is choice of image plus it has the catalog number for the album in the lower right corner and the 20th Century Records logo in the left but that's it.

I'll continue my quest to find a mintier example for a reasonable price but I'm glad I at least have one now
