| the vintage Tie Interceptors...do all models of this have lights AND sounds? I ask because I have two that both light up but they don't make any sound. Are they both faulty? Would be incredibly grateful for a quick answer on this as I have an interested buyer. Thanks so much in advance. -J |

| Did you say.....quick answer? (da-da-da!!)
Yes they all had sound. The good part is that it's easily fixable. There is a motor inside (under the cockpit) that is most likely just stuck. If you carefully unscrew the cockpit you'll see it. You need to just turn the motor by hand for a while and then - DAGO-BAM!!! It will start turning on it's own, making contact with the little plastic strip that makes the sound!
Cheers

Rightly so. I believe that, done correctly, it is one of nature's most spectacular phenomena. |

Yep...it does feel really good. I've been on a roll lately with the electrics, fixing AT-ATs, Falcons, a Snowspeeder and now these. But I wouldn't have been able to do these without John's help. I wasn't even sure that they had sound and I certainly wouldn't have thought to manually turn the motor (I had no idea that's how the sound on these would work - It's pretty cool, makes a surprisingly accurate screeching sound) So far, nothing I've tried to fix has been complicated, or had a problem with the electrics themselves, it's always mechanical in some way, usually to do with the battery contacts either being corroded or mis-shapen. It's been a useful thing to learn. |
