TIG'ers

Get ready to put your best figs forward. The Imperial Gunnery Tournamnet of Champions is set to begin soon. This bracket tournament will decide who among you holds the ulitmate Vintage item. There will be upsets, there will be tears but ultimately there will be a winner.

Here are the "Official" Catagories. This will be an eight bracket tournament. You may enter up to 4 items. There will be runoffs to get us to the 64 combatants if needed and then we will begin.


**CATAGORIES - NOW OFFICALLY LOCKED AND READY. FINAL EDITION**

1. Loose Vintage Figures (all productions except LL)

2. Kenner Carded Vintage Figures

3. Carded or loose Bootlegs Figures / Playsets / Vehicles

4. Carded Foreign License Figures / Playsets / Vehicles

5. Loose or Carded Lili Ledy Figures / Playsets / Vehicles (Yes I know its foreign but it's my tournamnet so piss off )

6. Standard Vehicles / Playsets

7. Vintage Non-Toy items

8. High Roller Section (Items over $1000 go here) / Preproduction & 1st Shot Items

Can I just confirm that the carded categories work from USA perspective i.e. Standard Carded items refers to Kenner and items such as Palitoy which are home releases to us UK guys are classed as foreign?

If so would it not be better to have a separate section for foreign Carded (if this is including Palitoys and Tri Logo's etc) and a separate section for foreign loose like the PBP Figures, POCH Figs, Tri Figs, and other European figures?

The reason I’m asking (I may be reading the categories wrong) is that hundreds of amazing carded and loose are going to have battle it out in one category at the minute

Whilst Kenner / USA stuff has 2 separate categories -

"1. Standard Loose Vintage Figures"
and
"2. Standard Carded Vintage Figures"

When you think about it there are far more foreign release items Palitoy, Glassite, Top Toys, General Mills German, Dutch Clipper, Harbet, Mecanno etc etc than there are Kenner release items so for me it would make sense for foreign to have at least as many categories as Kenner (if not more considering theres a Ledy section) if you know what I mean and I think that ties in with the international make up of the forum members as well.

Just my thoughts ideas like I said I may not understand what "2. Standard Carded Vintage Figures" and "1. Standard Loose Vintage Figures" covers but I’m assuming that refers to Kenner and Foreign refers to every license outside the USA.

You're 100% right in the interpretation.

My reasoning is that the number of Palioty, Meccano, Glasslite combined most likely don't equal the amount of Kenner US. I wanted to give everyone a fair shake.

I would say that if you add up Palitoy, PBP, POCH, Meccano, Top Toys, Tri Logo (and all the sub versions), Dutch Clipper, German General Mills, Glassite, Harbet, Canadian GDE, Tol Toys (im probably missing some as well) i would definately think they add up to far more MOC releases than the total number of Kenner MOC's Cardbacks produced your probably talking about a pool of Forigen MOC that is at least 5 times higher than the amount of Kenner releases if not more!

Look at Stephens Meccano to Tri Logo book and that’s one small part of foreign releases!

Even just looking at the number of Canadian GDE cardbacks and Palitoy Cardbacks that those lines had they cant be that many behind Kenner on there own?

Sorry Jay, I meant relative to our members ownership. Not in general distribution.

Also , I don't see many loose figs being entered since they are , by and large, very similar to standard figs. If I only have a few entries Im not going to submit a Lando PBP soleyl based on his black crewneck shirt.

I can always remove the High Rollers and make a loose foreign to seperate from loose carded. I also clarified by using the word "Kenner"

I agree with those simple categories..... 4,5,6 & 8 for me!!!

Each person is allowed to enter 4 items! but is there a limit to how many per catagory?

I agree in that there probably isnt a need for Kenner Standard loose as well as Foriegn Loose

I like the new format you edited i think that will work spot on!

The only other suggestion i would have would it be possible to add Pre-porduction to the High roller section? i.e

8. High Roller Section (Items over $1000 go here) and all Pre Production items

haha nice one John i dont own / collect pre-production but i know a few people do and imagine they will want to enter some of their pieces

If you want to enter 4 preproductions be my guest! Only warning would be you might find your items facing off. Like a good investment, DIVERSIFY!

John, I was wondering for cat 7 non-toy vintage, does that include any line (US, foreign, and bootleg)? If so, I got one for that one for sure.

Killer. I didn't know if bootlegs were going to be in it or not. I got a few for the other catagorys, except 8.

Jimmy - No you won't need to be online. When we do a round, it will done by polling and most votes will declare a winner. So no need to worry about time zones either.
