Hi all,

Yet another ebay issue, this time its debatable wether i should just keep the stuff but here it goes.

I bought a set of boxed items, all clearly described as SEALED, however when i got them they were not sealed at all, and in pretty bad shape.

Now here is the problem, they are large and if the seller agreed to have them back he knows i would have to pay $40-$50 to send them back recorded with tracking and insurance so i would be out of pocket.
Ive not emailed the seller yet but im so p*ssed off and i really cant be bothered to send them back.

Andy

Hi Andy i feel you bud i had a similar thing happen last year.

I guess it depends on costs

How much the items are worth / what was paid for them and what impact paying 40 - 50$ return costs will have.

E.g if the items were worth less than 100$ then its not really worth sending them back unless you want to stick it to the seller.

Can recoup more money by relisting them as described maybe on the forums as a UK - UK sale where the postcost will be much less?

Jay

Hi Andy, that's bad luck, I hate it when a deal goes wrong on Ebay. Perhaps you could let the seller
know that the items were significantly not as described and maybe get the seller to offer a partial refund?
That way you at least get some of your money back and you won't have the headache of such a large
return of items?
Hope you work out some solution m8 Smile let us know how it goes.

'Not as described' route may offer you the best route as paul said then sell the items as they are ment to be and recoup rest of money that way .... possibly make some proffit

If he wants return then Demand he covers the cost for return as its not your fault that he missled you on the advertising.

As ive been down the route before, If the seller kicks up a fuss, Ebay will ask you provide confirmation form a reputable seller/trader that the items are not as described im sure you know people in the trade that will do this for you Wink

Good Luck

(P.S. Get the claim in ASAP as PP will freeze his funds till its sorted which might twist his arm a little to resolve it faster)

Andy2,

i would email the seller first and ask that he " does the right thing " and covers all postage costs, then ebay/paypal if he is not willing to play ball.

You could as Jay has mentioned sell them on to hope recover the full cost on the forum

im just coming to the end of a six month dispute and its a night mare so you have my full sympathy mate
