| Lol I know its a strange topic, but we all know the smell of the vintage plastic is unmistakable, I think many of you older guys will remember the smell from actually opening the figures as children and it sure reminds me of the figures I had as a kid after I opened my toy box to play with them, oddly I just set up my loose set in a cabinet and after just a few hours the smell seems to be leaking out and up my nose Lately its smelling more like fumes than awesomeness (and I guess it probably is! 30 year old plastic mmmm!) LOL Anyone have any strange stories regarding the smell of vintage , does it bring back fond memories, do you hate it? I feel a bit like this sitting next to my display - :drunken: |

| I love the smell of vintage plastic in the morning...
I think the sense of smell definitely adds to the sense of sight when admiring my collection. The two together compliment each other for me. It does help transport you back in time I think. It seems like just yesterday I was opening that mailer and seeing and smelling those figures for the first time when I walk into my sw room.
Ahhhh! childhood memories! |

| The smell of vintage figures and the old Ben Cooper halloween costumes you just can't beat. I couldn't wait to crack a new figure open back in the day for the smell, just like sports and non-sports cards. They have that particular smell that just takes you back to the late 70's/ early 80's that will never be replicated again. Makes me wish I was 10 again. |

| Smells like teen plastic... lol Joe, you got me sniffing my new Greedo! There's been a few figures I've acquired and... yes, that certain plastic smell has brought back the childhood memories... at least I think so... it may also be just the sheer delight of seeing a cool figure again after all those years? It's a big nostalgic rush for all the senses really Paul |

| Lol! Yeah its an odd topic + the discussion about sniffing figures wouldn't really work anywhere other than a toy collecting forum haha I think the smell is a bit overpowering when you have 100 of them giving off that plastic whiff! Every time I open my cabinet I think I am going to pass out |

| I can see it now in the news. Young kids getting high cheesing off their old toys, some say its better than sniffing paint. |

"Take 3 whiffs of modern and call me in the morning." I think the modern would make it worse. |

| It's when you think you are on your own sniffing a minty loose PBP figure that gives off that yummy sweet aroma ...And then your missus walks in just as you have your nose up Greedo's arse |

Ask your wife if she can find out if her grandpa wants to sell his collection! |

| I can totally relate to this thread! I am always smelling my loose figures. Always! It's funny as my wife has caught me numerous times smelling the figures. I don't even try and hide it anymore! I even go so far as to smell all my new shipments, as soon as I open the shipping box. Not only do loose figures smell good, but so do MOC! |
