Title says it all. Are the boxes sealed or just the baggie inside?

I never had one in my hands.....but i think the boxes are not sealed! Only the baggies!

Wolff is correct, the boxes are not sealed.

I have seen both heat and taped sealed baggies inside.

I'm glad you asked this question about the Popy's since I've wondered about this too. It seems odd that they wouldn't tape the boxes shut.

Yes i don't know why they wouldn't do it just to secure the contents.

no wonder those little catalogues can be tricky to find!

popy boxes were tape sealed. On most the tape has dried and fallen off

You'l probably find that tape was a later addition spoons.
Only the baggies were sealed, the boxes were completely unsealed both ends.
I looked into putting a set together and done quite a bit of reading up about them.
That tape is defintely old, but imho applied later on.

you sure Del? - I've seen quite a few with the same tape, and I think AFA grade them sealed in box

From what i have read on scum. It was an old thread, but i definately read more than once that the boxes are not sealed at all.

unless i miss read and the bottoms were taped.

i just looked at a load of pics on webshots and on my pc and can't see another with tape or tape residue.

this one was sealed at both ends, but the top tape was cut open. The tape dried and fell off since I've owned it and there is no residue whatsoever. I can't see why someone would have sealed it after they bought it

just looked for other tape sealed ones too and I can't find any, but I'm sure I've seen others in the past

I honestly think yours has been taped afterwards mate.

Im 99.9% certain these were not sealed. Maybe someone taped it to save loosing anything, probably years ago.

possibly but these boxes don't exactly fall open - I'll keep my eyes peeled for another

maybe its possible that some were tape sealed and some not. I will check my archive again., but I think i only have pictures from no taped sealed ones in my archive.

Its always possible that firms like poppy changed their way of production. maybe only the later ones were tape sealed, because they noticed a problem with the unsealed once.....or they stoped taping them because of money issues.....sounds rediculous, but its well known that 1mm less cable used to a car can safe a lot of money to a car producing firm.....so no tape on thopusands of figures is still logical to save money.
