Paul,

Hope you don't mind me piggy backing onto this topic, but I have Vader COO ID problems aswell.

Vader #1 - From France, is this a COO#12?

Darth Vader ID: COO #8/#9 #12/#13 Eep2sn1

Vader #2 - From France, looks like COO#9 but the spacing above the (C) is larger. The (C) spacing matches COO#8, but the "G" is complete.

Darth Vader ID: COO #8/#9 #12/#13 FLudsUZ

Vader #3 - From UK, same as Vader #2

Darth Vader ID: COO #8/#9 #12/#13 NHZPZjY

Both Vader #2 & #3 have the same COO, same Capes are smooth one side, rough the other.

Damn Vaders!!!!!!

I'm still baffled by the "Clipper" Vader, am I right saying there are made in macua (as seen on the baggies) and these is the correct COO?

From what I understood, Clipper baggies came in two sorts:

  • Plain baggies:  COO #8/#9, Spain produced figure, roguse cape, also appeard on PBP 65-backs, Palitoy 65-backs.
  • Made in Macau baggies:  raised bar over Hong Kong, COO#13/#14.

This also answers Paul's question about COO#13, I think.

The Vader#2 came with the "step" in the edge but Vader#3 didn't.

Are they the same variant, as the painted chest vary a little?

Sabre wise, they both came with Version 1, Thick section is squared off. Aren't Clippers rounded?

Like Marco said coo#13 raised bar hong kong coo originally, but then made in China i believe. coo#14 raised bar european coo? Walkie your first one does look like a coo 12 to me mate, followed by 2 x coo#9 PBPs with roguse capes, the difference in chest detail looks like slightly different spray apps, red over white, but the sculpt looks very similar to me. The last one is coo#8 with 'H' remaining which was also PBP/Clipper. And i believe was found in Macau baggies. I too have two versions of the roguse cape one with a step in and one without thinking but i reckon they are both the same variant as the differences seem too subtle, the step in is also known as an 'error cut'. I was under the impression that clipper/PBP vaders came with rounded transition sabers as they were produced later on ROTJ and tri logo cards. It could be that your sabers got mixed up at some point.
