| I haven't seen the episode myself. But there was a legit Meccano VC MOC graded in the last few years. There is a Canadian VC Jawa & arguably a Palitoy one as well- I think that's it? ( & the ESB Toltoys one ) http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1046445-3/ from http://madbrownz.blogspot.com.au/p/the-jawa-features.html The Canadian:

| OK, WOW! So, I just watched that episode (Season 6, Episode 32 "Corey, I am Your Father") and after seeing the Stormtrooper on a quick flyover (around 13:25 or so), I would bet you they are re-carded. The Stormtrooper appears to have the vertical tape lines at the top of the bubble. The bubble was cracked, I think, so one could potentially argue it was re-sealed along the top of the bubble, but those lines are too exact a match to a normal re-carded figure. They brought in an expert who said they are real, but that Stormy really set of a flag to me at first. I paused it when they had close-ups and none show the waffle pattern. I know its a lower resolution copy but I would expect to see it even a little. Leia's left side looked wonky. And I can swear I see horizontal and vertical tape lines on most all of them. The VC Jawa almost appears to have double lines more in the center running vertically above both his shoulders which looked odd. It is Meccano so that might be normal. The back story from the seller was this older guys' parent's collected them and they were in a closet since they were purchased. Odd that every one was a straight US Kenner 12 back and the only foreign one was a VC Meccano Jawa though. Well traveled parents back in the day? So if one is, my guess are that all are. I am going to watch a few parts and pause again, but I just think they aren't legit. And if that is the case, wow... that sucks for them. Not because I like the show mind you (this is only the second episode I have seen - I don't care for reality TV personally), but I feel bad cause they got swindled and fear they might sell them to some poor person. Pawn Stars doesn't appear to have a free or legal online version of this, but I have a copy I can share with you if you are interested. I don't want to upload here or a video site due to legal reasons, but if you wold like to view it, I can help. PM me. I am sooooooooooooo new at this and I hope I am wrong and hope that they are legit but something seems foul here. |

| i saw the episode recently, and i too couldn't shake the feeling that they were recards evne more raised eyebrow as their "vintage toy expert" came around to check them.. no looking for waffle patterns, not mentioning the (too?) short vinyl cape on the jawa.. of course not all things make the final cut in these programs - i get that. but i also get that producers will go great lengths to make sure every episode has at least one or two holy grails coming through the pawn shop... so yes, i do think that not only the mocs were fake, the whole show probably is.
still, i like to watch it.. we get to know some very cool items from a very wide variety of collecting areas |

| The fact is that nothing on these "reality" shows is real. It's neat to watch, but almost everything is staged.
I found the price to be very high, considering none of them were AFA. Some of the cards looked like they might be legit, but I know it's not really hard to put an old price tag on something to make it look older. I'm not familiar with Meccano, so I don't know about that one. The card looked pretty curled though.
The Leia was ESB, so I can't imagine that she would be that high, considering it is not a 12 back. |

| The so-called vintage toy expert is Johnny! I live here in Las Vegas and know him fairly well. I've chatted with him on multiple occasions. He is NOT very intelligent when it comes to vintage toys. What he is very smart on is die-cast vehicles and redline hotwheels, as that is what he has primarily collected for years.
His knowledge on everything else comes from eBay. I wouldn't let him grade, buy or sell any of my Star Wars if he was the last person on this planet. His shop on Fremont St is cool to walk in and see, but he is extremely high priced.
I can tell you some horror stories about how he and the idiots from Pawn Stars collaborate to under value someone's items to buy them cheaper in the end.
They're all a joke!!! |

| Nice entry, Jason! Owning all five of the vinyl cape Jawa MOCs must be one of the ultimate collector goals in our hobby. Whch one would you like to have, if you had to pick one? |

| I would pick the Meccano 12 Back. Ironic that I have seen more Meccano VC 12 Backs than Cloth Caped versions over the last three years. The card is very appealing to me.. |
