Those highclass fakes are really really tough to identify! I guess not even the seller knows its fake!

The cape material on those is 99% close to the original!!

Thanks for the heads up. I'm actually watching that auction at the moment. I wasn't interested in that figure, but there seemed to be some other great figures. Do you see any other problems with any of his other auctions that he has running? The one I'm especially interested in is the red armoured 4-Lom?

No....this one is fine! (As the rest is as far as I have checked)

As said: the seller probably felt for that burgundy cape too! He seems to be a collector selling his collection! He hasnt made the this fake or is selling them once and a while. The burgundy repros popped up a few years ago in Mexico!

All the PBP and Uzay stuff looks and has looked fine! The market was flooded by these burgundy capes once! No wonder a lot of people fell for it!

Did you send the seller a message? (I have now) He is a very reasonable guy to speak with & as you said he probably does not know.

Thanks for linking that old thread. After reading it, I'm a little nervous. I'm tempted to get my bib's out of storage and check them out. It was around that 2010 time frame that I bought mine. And I was buying from those 3 sellers that were mentioned on pg 2 of the thread by Stargeezer.

Damn it. It's times like this, I want my collection out of storage.

this HQ capes are really well made.. I wonder how many collectors bought one of those and don't know they have a fake
burgundy bib?! I purchased one as well about 2 years ago but got my money back fortunately

Just get your bib out off storage and check it, if you are not sure, you can always put up pictures On here, and the variant collectors Will chime in and tell you what it is.

By the way, this fake looks good, but the red stitching is giving it away, but beware, there are others that have stitching thats not dyed with the cape. I think They are described in the older threads Wolff linked.

Alright, I've dug them out of storage and took them up stairs to the natural light at the living room window. I couldn't go outside, because it's raining and only 9 deg's out.

I took out the 2 ledy's that I have and one of the kenner's to compare.

The green cape looks good. I used it to compare the armpit cut.



And here is the burgundy cape.
In my office the stitching looks red, but up in the natural light, it looks brownish.





Please let me know what you guy's think?

Do you have better pictures of the armpit cuts On the burgundy cape.

I actually don't like the colour off the stitching, but curious for some more pics.

commander clint your burgundy bib is real mate as far as i can say from a picture but carn't be 100% untill i have it in hand buddy

the one in the ebay auction the cloth looks very convincing but like the other guy's have said the stiching is wrong so it is a fake mate it is only a matter of time before people start unstiching them and putting more convincing stiching in a real shame for the hobby it realy make me said that people can not post information on forums about figures sometimes because of con men that just want to make a quick buck i suppose it will allways be this way and i carn't see a way of stopping them i know a lot of info is out there but think about it lads we are just giving them info by posting info like this so they can make coppys and try to get them selfs ritch they will allways be people like this and i know it is a real shame for the hobby but as long as there is people like this out there, may be we should check people out more carefully and when you can trust them then if them people want info do it by pm's .. it will stop people that don't care about the hobby getting the info they need and the true hobbyest getting info when they have proved them selfs makes sence to me what do you think lads ??? all the best jase
