Hi all--
Recently while looking at a couple of MIM Vaders, I noticed a difference. One had a block sticker in the top left corner, attempting to cover up the assortment number and replace it with a new one. Thanks to some input from Joe, I have learned that these have shown up all over the place. Different figures, different card backs, with apparently no rhyme of reason.




Here's a close up for those that haven't seen this before.


I am now incredibly intrigued by this sticker, and am hoping to gather some information in order to better understand them. So I'm asking for help. If anyone has any MOC's that have this sticker, please respond with which figure, which card back, and any other pertinent information you might have. For instance COO on the card back, US or Foreign Card, etc. If you are able, pictures are also great. I'm just really curios as to how many of these are out there, and if there is any sort of pattern that can be discerned from them.

The ultimate goal is to have at least some sort of rudimentary checklist and/database for reference.

Tad, from what I understand about the stickers, they are transition stickers like you find on the Canadian ones. Since the regular number was 38230, when they put the Anakin offer on them, they had to change the stock number to coincide with the offer. I hope this is some info you were talking about on gathering along with how many are out there.

Just caught the other one didnt have a sticker on it.

I don't think they coincide with the Anakin Offer, since Craig's Luke Jedi is a 77-A with no offer. I've been starting to research them, and it's been said before, but it makes no sense, that these stickers would be on 65 backs, and then on 77 backs as well. Yo would think that since they are transitional stickers, that since they first appeared on 65 backs, (I think) that they would have been printed on all the subsequent card backs, and there wouldn't be a need for the sticker.

But of course, it's Kenner, so who knows what the exact reasoning is. But dammit, I'm gonna try to figure it out. We got ourselves a caper, Scooby-Doo style!

Sorry about that, I was using the Anakin offer as an example. Like I said, that was my understanding of what they were.

I received this one today, and noticed it had the black sticker. it's a 79-B Gamorrean Guard.



Which made me double check my other ROTJ MOC's, and I found this Nikto 77-a that has it.

Surely there's got to be more of these in collections. Please take a look , and let me know what you have so I can update the list.

I am tempted to say I have seen a 79A but haven't found a picture yet to prove it. Both the 77A and 79B can be found without the sticker as well and the 77A seems to be more common.

i checked my moc's and on not one of them was there a black sticker guys , sorry

id did make me curious about a biker scout version so , gonna do some searching my self tonight

Thanks for checking Jimmy! And I know what you mean, now I find myself looking at every ebay ROTJ auction to see if it has a black sticker.

Thanks, Rog! I'll add the Logray right now. As far as the Madine goes, what card back is that? Is it a 65 C or 65 D? I wasn't sure if the Anakin sticker on the front means that it also has the Anakin back, or if it's still the Emperor offer on the back.

Also, thanks to you too, Jason! What card back is the Jawa? 77-a or 77-b?
