Ok with the latest topic concerning authenticating/grading/preserving i deceided to ask this. AFA vs UKG? thoughts,experiences,....

UKG have changed their stickers (no more stupid star rarity) & their cases are better now. I've not dealt with either company but AFA still have the 'name' behind them & have been in business a lot longer.

Ive got 3 figures graded by UKG and none by AFA. I looked into AFA but I just found it too expensive to justify so UKG was cheaper which was great.
Only thing I dislike about UKG is that they never seem to put you pictures of your figures on there archieve. It may just be me but I have e-mailed them 3 seperate times to ask why when I search my serial number is my figure not listed and they just said that they have a back log of figures to put on.
I even bought a figure from someone else (DT luke) and thats not on either. This has been over a period of I would say at least 3 years! So in that respect as much as ive used them I find them alittle unprofessional and as James has said they lack the AFA name so in the collecting world AFA graded holds a higher place/price than UKG at the moment.

yeah this helps just want to hear members experieces with one ore both graders.
i live in belguim(europe) so AFA is not a cheap option for me as you get snagged by customs every time
do youre UKG figures keep theyre value? considerings the shipping and the grading fees? there must be a little increase in value no?

Since your from Belgium, your best at getting the things graded at UKG to save some shipping costs, i think they almost are as known as AFA now.
But, AFA is still the better known global service and i still think higher of figures graded by AFA then figures graded by UKG, also for rarer loose figures for example Lili Ledy Bib Fortuna, Uzay Darth Vader, Toltoys VC Jawa, Top Toys Luke Jedi etc... or rarer carded figures like Uzay, i think your still better off at AFA for authentication.
