| ive got a 10mp nikon camera with macro option, however i cant seem to get my pictures any where near the quality that are on here, ive tried taking them close up but the flash bounces back fartyher away but zoomed in just wont show up the detail well enough ive got a pretty steady hand so blurring aint the problem any ideas? | Its took me ages to get a camera set up to take macro photos of figures (mainly 25mm Wahammer) Ive had a few cameras with 'Macro Function' but never really got good results till i bought my Sony Digital SLR, Dedicated Macro lens and Macro Ring Flash light.
Is your Nikon a SLR or a compact ? If its a SLR then the macro setting on the body needs a macro lense to gain its full potential for fine work. If its a compact its a case of trial and error to get decent settings. |

| I've had decent luck with my compact camera and the macro setting. I find it's best to get as close as possible and let the camera do the rest of the work. When the image still looks blurry, just step back a bit and try again. With mine (Samsung BTW) when it's in Macro mode, the camera will automatically adjust the zoom both in and out until the image is clear. So like I said, if it's still blurry, then I just back up a bit. So, yea, like Gandalf said, it takes a bit of trial and error. Hope that helps! |

| make sure when you half press the shutter button that the item you want a macro of is in the green taget box, it sounds obvious but a lot of people take off the target box or ignore it, if it goes red then you are too close, move back a few mm and half press the shutter button until it goes green.
